The Genocide and Famine in the Soviet Ukraine took place in 1932-1933. This is also known as the Holodomor, meaning "death by hunger". This was a very brutal Genocide (a deliberate and systematic extermination of a group of people) headed by Joseph Stalin. It's estimated that more than 10 million people died due to violent execution, deportation, and starvation.
